Boca Raton ... the location of tonight's foreign policy debate between the two major-party presidential nominees, is an interesting place.
For users of the social networking site Multiply, it should be noted that before the site was purchased and shipped to Indonesia, it was the previous corporate home.
It's also home of Florida's 22nd Congressional District, which is represented by easily-one-of-the-nuttiest men in Congress, Republican Allen West. He's the teaparty darling who, earlier this year, said "there's about 78 to 81 members of the Democrat Party that are members of the Communist Party." His long list of stupid statements and actions is legendary.
Then there's Romney.
Boca Raton is where Mitt -- presumably speaking off the record (meaning: he thought no one was listening to or recording his remarks) -- made his famous "47%" remark. There are lots of rich Republicans in Boca who really thought his quip that "I'd have a better chance of winning if I was latino" was really hilarious.
There are lots of hispanics in south Florida, you see.
Boca was also once home to the infamous Dennis Kozlowski whom you probably only vaguely remember from the Tyco International scandal. Dennis no longer lives there as he is now a resident and charge of the New York correctional system.
Boca.... what a town.
Good place for a presidential debate.... not.
With a name that, in Spanish, means "rat's mouth," at least as a location, it's apropos.
