Messing up when it counts!

What a way to go.

Yesterday, I wrote about the upcoming Superbowl of Canadian Football this weekend in Calgary -- it's called the Grey Cup -- and the Roughriders lost.

Oh sure, that also means that the Montreal Als *(Alouettes) won . . . . . but really, it was the Saskatchewan Roughriders who lost.

They had a close lead going into the very final minute of the game!
Montreal had a chance to win with a field goal!

Leading 27-25 in the final minute, the Roughriders began celebrating a CFL title when Alouettes kicker Damon Duval missed a 43-yard field goal attempt with no time remaining.

But penalty flags flew as the ball sailed wide. Saskatchewan was called for having too many men on the field, which gave Duval another chance from 33 yards this time.

The Montreal kicker did not miss his second chance.

OMG! Imagine losing because somebody forgot to get an accurate count?

In the annals of CFL screw-ups, this has gotta be near the top.
In the Grey Cup, even!

Ugh! . . . if David isn't crying in his green beer, I'll bet 99% of Saskatchewanians are.

Man, that hurts.

For the Special Teams - Defensive Unit : here's a little reminder on how to count.
Unfortunately, I couldn't find an episode that went to 12 -- and stopped there -- but I'll keep looking.
